TSP’s September event is a conversation with Melanie Letore and Tine Bek which explores visual representations of masculinity. The point of departure is the second volume of Tine Beks Age of Man in her trilogy The Photographic Earth Sagas and Latores examination of male gender in mainstream film production.
Danish Photographer Tine Bek is based in Glasgow and is currently undertaking an MLitt at Glasgow School of Art’s Fine Art Photography program. Her work is widely exhibited and she has taken part in a number of international residency programs.
Melanie Letore graduated from the BA (Hons) in Fine Art Photography at the Glasgow School of Art in 2014. Her dissertation was about the gender, ethnic and class issues within the Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers musicals. She is a writer for Young Artists in Conversation, where she recently published an interview with Scott Caruth and is in progress to publish one with Sarah Amy Fishlock.
